Matthew 6:24-34

Matthew 6:24-34

24 No man can serve two masters. He will either hate one, and love the other: or be attentive to one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. 25 Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about the body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food: and the body more than clothes.

26 Look at the birds in the sky, they do not sow, or reap, they gather nothing into barns: yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are not you much more important than they? 27 Can any of you by worrying, add a single moment to his life? 28 Why are you anxious about clothes, learn from the way the wild flowers grow, they neither work nor spin. 29 But I say to you, that not even Solomon in all his glory was arrayed as one of these. 30 If God so clothes the grass of the field, which grows today and is cast into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you. O ye of little faith? 31 So do not say: What are we to eat: or what are we to drink, or what are we to wear? 32 The unbelievers are always running after these things. For your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. 33 Seek first the kingdom of God, and his justice, and all these things shall be given you besides. 34 So don't worry about tomorrow; let tomorrow take care of itself. For today has trouble enough of its own.

God wants
peace for us all.

God is not a purveyor of fear and anxiety, nor does He want us to be. In fact, He wants peace and confidence in His loving care, both spiritual and temporal, for all of us..

Mother Mary in her messages to the locutionists at Medjugorje has recommended we read Matthew 6:24-34 weekly.

Not surprisingly, this verse speaks of God's love and care in much the same way as the instruction from Jesus on how to find peace received through Father Dolindo Ruotolo.
